Derivation of the name Perry Vale

I'm told this is from the time when there were market gardens here - from the term perry for pears (and/or the alcoholic drink).

Younger readers will not be familiar with the term 'perry' and may wish to rechristen the road 'Magners Pear Cider Vale'
