Does anywhere in this manor sell trees that are not overpriced (dodgy place behind the station/ Stanstead Rd Garden Centre) and/or unlikely to be near-bald by Christmas Eve (last year's from Horniman School)?
 Recommendations very much appreciated.

Yes, the small flower shop on the corner not far from Wok Express on Dartmouth Road has really good quality trees, she keeps them in the small yard so you won't see many in the small shop or on the pavement. And the lady there is adorable.

Shannon's Garden Centre near the Railway Telegraph has some good-looking trees this year. Worth a look and ought not be too far to bring them home.

Thanks. I'll try Dartmouth Road Lady. She's very affable isn't she millesens. Does amazing bouquets too. Welcome competition for the florist over the road. Often found them grouchy and their stuff well-overpriced.

Personally I never cared much for the Rottweilers they keep behind the counter.....

For those that can get there the Homebase near Sydenham (on the way to Bromley) are selling good 5 foot trees for ?9.99 which is very cheap. We got our from them last year and it was great, little needle drop and lasted till the twelth night.

That is very cheap. Would that be the Homebase near Penge station you are talking about?
