Does anyone know the law on how long these signs can be left outside a property?I thought it was 14 days from the granting of the tenancy. An estate agent has just put one back outside our flats about 18 months after letting the property. Just a case of trying their luck with a bit more advertising I think. Just want to be clear on the law before approaching them.

Will ask the wife who is in the industry. Also just noticed that all of the estate agents signs on the new block of flats that was built on the cadets parade ground had been pulled down. She did mention that if the council see them lying on the ground the agents who own the boards are liable for a fine of ?80 for each board.
 HINT HINT!!!!

The good lady wife is unsure about letting but does know it is 2 weeks for sales. She is checking on the lettings side and will report back soon.

Thanks Londondrz.
I usually take them down and dump them, although I would lay it on the pavement outside the estate agent if I didn't think it would be a hazard for pedestrians. Or shove it through their letterbox.

I too saw the pile outside the ex cadets flats and had to smile. A lot also routinely build up on London Rd outside Eliot Bank before someone culls them.

Once a property has been let through an agency, Landlords are asked that if they were happy with the service, could a board be left advertising that service. This is usually negotiable, usually with a promise in reduction of percentage of the fees.

My grandad once made a great bird table using the pole of a lettings sign that had been around for too long...
