This post is NOT concerned with the outsourcing of the Lewishams Council Tax to Manchester, but rather about the work being done by the council to help those out of work to find jobs.

Lewisham Council have been seeking bids (closing date 14/08/2009) from organisations experienced in providing support to those who are unemployed and to help them return to work. This programme will be targeted at specific wards within the borough which exhibit high levels of unemployment. The programme will be aimed at providing employability support, i.e how to be successful at finding, securing and then maintaining employment for those involved. This will be a challenging task for the successful organisation.
