I must say that I'm a huge fan of Lidl and would recommend them to anyone, particularly for their fruit juices, sweets, biscuits and charcuterie - although I'd say the fresh fruit & veg. is of highly variable standard - from excellent to rather droopy.

They've had their continental Christmas goodies, to which I am extremely partial, out since September too, though. I'd recommend the chocolate covered gingerbread stars, especially in plain chocolate at about ?1.49 a box. With a loop of thread they make top edible tree decorations.
