From what I have just seen out walking I wouldn't venture near Canonbie or Netherby in a car. I didn't see the steepest hill side of Canonbie, the Netherby Road side looked bad enough to me. Even a couple of hours ago cars were struggling big time on Netherby.

Forest Hill Road towards the junction with Honor Oak Road was causing problems for cars and buses even at 3.30 as it seemed to have a thin layer of compacted snow. The fact that traffic was stop start wasn't helping. In these circumstances some of the parking of people picking up their little darlings from the school was simply unbelievable (and it beggars belief at the best of times!!).

Conditions seemed as bad as I have seen them in 25 years here. If there is a hard frost the fun will really start. Saw no real sign of grit or gritters.
