I'm not exactly a Royalist, but I haven't got an issue with the wedding being celebrated or having a public holiday for it. (I get a day off for it in addition to Good Friday, Easter Monday and May Day)

After a recent family bereavement, I'll be glad to see a celebration of someone else's next stage in life.
