As in a previous thread, I quoted lines from a famous Beatles song, who do we all think were the greatest band ever, me personally would have to go for the Stones & Beatles

Different bands at periods of life and very difficult to pin it down to one. Shortlist would have to be Stones, Bowie, Beatles and Talking Heads

Thanks Brockley, Lottie & Sonny
All very good bands that you have chosen

With the bands that we have gone for, could I suggest that the average age of the posters on this forum is 40plus, apologies if your age ie below that figure, tell you, mine is past it

Four Poofs and a Piano for me.
Now you will all think I am a gay man. You couldn't be more wrong.

Seriously, the best for me has to be 'The Saturdays', currently in the Top 40. but by the time I'm 30 I'll probably have changed my mind.....

The Beatles, by far are the greatest band. Whether or not you like them is almost irrelevant. They are the most influential, important, successful and timeless band of all time.
(Sticks head in sand, awaits return fire).

 P.S. I'm not 40.

Yep you guessed it, just turned 40 although I like to think not a 60's music fundamentalist. The only modernish band that I can remember really making me sit back and draw breath were the stone Roses who didn't last so long or produce enough music to be considered as the best.
 Beatles
