Cheeky,
If you or anybody else want to know what's happening then I suggest you contact the addresses listed in an earlier post (http://www.se23.com/forum/showthread.php...9#pid48879).
The current occupants would seem to have a successful business running as it's fully occupied on many nights. We certainly enjoyed our visit.
I'm sure if it transitioned from it's pop-up nature to a more permanent undertaking then the secret part of the experience would naturally cease. As things are today the secrecy is an essential part of the business plan.
The operators have been clear from the start that they are happy to answer any questions from locals. I'd urge you to contact them.
Cheers.

Thanks for the info! Very interesting indeed! In the words of Stuart MacConie @ 6Music, it appears the 'Hoxton Bonnet's' have come to town!

On the night we attended a fairly large group had travelled specially from Epsom and other places west of London - so it's drawing people from quite far afield - certainly further than Hoxton. Others had spent time beforehand in HopScotch and on One Tree Hill - so it would also seem to be increasing spend on the parade and raising awareness of the wonders of the area.

We had a fabulous night at the top secret new incarnation of The Old Bank too. Wish it was a keeper!

jeez this gets better and better. Now it sounds sordid, bowls of car keys anyone?!
Like I said, lets get a proper business in there. Secret parties behind blacked out windows

Bit annoying really. It's hardly secret if you have to just email someone. Anyway I've done that but had no reply.

So Dominoes Pizzas was blocked by the local community in favour of an exclusive swingers club???? Is that the secret?

I understand and like the concept, quite a few different pop-up organisations run these in London other cities, and I have attended a few, very enjoyable experiences. (and no, not a swingers club ) But I'd have to agree with others - it is not a business that HOP will take much benefit from. Yes, some people may have come all the way from Enfield to attend, but they're unlikely to either move to HOP now or have liked it so much here that they'll regularly make the schlep over to the other side of London to frequent our shops/cafes on the parade. And to anyone living in, or thinking of moving to HOP, the Old Bank still looks unoccupied and unattractive.
It benefits the landlord to have temporary tenants in there at least, and it's good to have the site occupied, rather than empty. But I, too, would hope that they will not make this a long term/permanent venture in that location. It's the first shop you see and it really needs an inviting business in there.
The Old Bank restaurant wasn't actually all that badly attended, except for around the last 1-2 years of its existence, when the standard of food had gone noticeably down. Prior to that, it used to be pretty busy in the eves so I don't think a new restaurant or bar would necessarily be doomed at all. The investment required to refurbish the existing interiors and kitchen though is apparently quite high. High rent+high upfront investment cost don't make for a good business plan.

Oh no why? Surely Kubrick's lowest moment!

Tinkerbell - I agree with everything you said but this. My understanding from a local estate agent is that 75% of enquiries are coming from North of the river. As I have stated before, strategically we need a more visible presence for sure, but in the meantime the profile of HOP will still benefit IMO.

Is this why we have police helicopters hovering over HOP?

Now had a reply so get the concept a bit more. Totally agree it's nice to have but not much of a help for the area per se. Also see that big rent plus high refurb costs is a daunting start with banks being so tight with cash these days. The dilemma of the British high street writ small, but that doesn't help either!

I know that Hopscotch, Stone Bar and probably Tapatisserie have benefited from people popping in for a quick drink before and after so it is not a bad thing for HOP at all. We all have the option to check it out and can only hope it leads to something else

The party won't last unfortunately , we've heard that Costa Coffee are to make an application with part of the premises to be shared with Sainsburys.
