There is a metal back-plate that I've noticed on some of the lamp posts, presumably to reduce the light shining into the house behind. Try contacting Skanska and ask for one to be attached to your lamp post.

I agree, and I have spoken to lewisham about the trees previously, however the trees were only cut back last winter, and are in their infancy of regrowing, so the situation can only get worse.

By night the road is almost in darkness. Headlights seems piercing bright, thats how dark it gets. Stupid planning really but what do I know lol.

Rsh, just to humour myself I will email that contact you have posted, just to see what they say. Cant hurt eh.

Well I had a rather prompt reply, which read....

I have passed your comments onto our Maintenance Team who will investigate and conduct photometric testing at night to ensure the required lighting levels are maintained.

Thanks for that LittleDiddy. Hopefully they will do the measurements while the trees have full coverage, and will see there is clearly a problem (or some of us think so anyway)
Not expecting miracles, but some light would be nice.

Yeah lol i know what you mean, when you make a report to skanska it can take a bit of time for them to get around to it. Anyway i wish you the best of luck and i hope they can sort the lighting problems for your road out very soon
